I’ve been following and reviewing this guide for 10 months now and when I started it was barely 60 pages, but still very solid, gold making information. With the latest update it’s 168 pages (plus bonuses), and there’s so much good info in it that you will never have to look for any other gold strategies, let alone buy gold. In the latest update Luke has also removed many of the old out-dated tips, which is great so you don’t waste time on those.
Even though it’s not too well organized, it starts out strong and just keeps pounding away with one hard-hitting gold making technique after another. For example:
- How to farm motes in Outlands (a huge money making opportunity right now)
- Farming areas accessible only by flying mount (a great money maker since not everyone can do this)
- Using herbalism, mining, skinning, engineering and more for extra profits
- Profiting from reputation items
- Making money from fishing!
Regardless if you’re lower level, or at level 70 doing end-game instances, in Azeroth or Outlands, there are very profitable techniques for you. Luke thoroughly covers the important gold-making avenues you can use, including:
- Gathering (using herbalism, mining, skinning and fishing primarily to gather and sell mats to other players)
- AH trading (This can be very easy gold if you know the secrets)
- Loads of farming spots for different items and for all levels (it’s great to not be dependant on one single spot that may be nerfed / camped / competed for) (There is a special "profit chart" that shows a handful of locations to grind for every level range. Very cool.)
- Crafting
- Instances
- Profiting from special events (some seasonal events can instantly earn you 100 to 300+ gold with almost no effort because the items can only be obtained once a year so they’re very rare)
- Mods that can boost your earnings
- Fishing
- Twink items (a very hot market to cash in on right now)
- Daily quests (including how to do the pre-requisite quests to open up some daily quests)
It isn’t just the old, recycled advice, but some very original ideas for lucrative profits.
This guide is clear and easy to use, even if you’re new to WoW. It’s up-to-date and comprehensive. This is a very good gold guide for any level.
Lastly, I have to mention the new 24 page fishing guide (updated for patch 2.3) which describes exactly how to get from 1 to 375 fishing for Horde or Alliance separately. Even if you don’t know how to cast a line yet, this guide will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. However, only two pages were actually dedicated to making gold with fishing, but those spots are really good imo.
