Guide To WoW Guides
"Your shortcut to finding the WoW Guide you want"
Last updated: 2008-04-21
With World of Warcraft getting ever more complex (the expansion pack, for instance) and more WoW guides entering the market, even this website is getting increasingly hard to navigate. So I thought I’d give you a quick and dirty guide into which guides I’m currently recommending in different areas. It is sometimes hard for me to keep all reviews up to date, so the recommendations on this page always have precedence over anything else on the site.

Horde Leveling Guides
Note: These are all based on questing, which is best and fastest.
Alliance Leveling Guides
Note: These are all based on questing, which is best and fastest.
Gold Guides
Note: The top 3 gold guides are all excellent and I’m sure you’ll be thrilled whichever one you choose.

Professions
There are two guides that include profession skill-up guides: "The Ultimate WoW Guide" and "Valkor’s Gold Making Guide". To be honest, I don’t know which ones are better, but they look similar. They both cover the same things: all primary professions, all secondary ones except fishing, and lockpicking. But "Valkor’s Gold Making Guide" shows you how to get 375 mining, whereas "The Ultimate WoW Guide" stops at 300. If you want to learn professions + gold strategies then get "Valkor’s Gold Making Guide". If you want the other stuff from "The Ultimate WoW Guide", take a look at that one.
There is also Penn’s Ultimate Profession Guide, which I don’t recommend. And Killer Guides’ Profession Guide, which you may take a look at if you’re getting Killer Guides’ entire WoW Guide Package. On its own, I don’t feel Killer Guides’ Profession Guide is worth the investment.
