This is a great guide to mastering the rogue. The latest update expanded the guide by 10 pages, so it’s now a 203 page downloadable ebook covering every important aspect of the rogue.
Not only does this WoW Rogue Guide cover everything you would expect, but it will also foster deadly skills. That’s one of the things that makes it shine. You could be a total newbie with regards to the rogue, and still learn all it takes to pwn virtually anything. It is that good.
Let me say that again so it’s clear: You’ll learn very specific combos and sequences of skills and abilities to take down your enemies, be they monsters or other players, very fast. You’ll learn how to play your role in dungeons, groups (even different types of groups), battlegrounds, solo and so on. With some practice, you can be loved, feared and HATED by putting these strategies to use. (After all, your sinister plan is probably to gank the sh!t out of every other player on your server / battlegroup. I know you rogues.)
Starting out by explaining the basics - what race to choose, how energy works and what weapons to use - this guide will not leave anyone behind, regardless of your experience with World of Warcraft or this class.
To contrast this basic information, the author then goes into an advanced discussion of how the new combat ratings work, explaining everything in-depth with mathematical formulas so you can compare and contrast different pieces of equipment.
To be honest, it was a little bit over my head, not because I can’t understand the math but because I’m really not that interested in knowing the exact formulas. So if you hate math, don’t worry. There won’t be a test, and you won’t be given a grade. However, this chapter is a great reference if you ever need it, especially if you’re one of those people who want to delve deep into their class and really tweak it for optimal performance.
As for talents they are like the heart of a class, and every single rogue talent available has a good paragraph of comments and a rating from 1 to 5 for usefulness. This is a very helpful when experimenting with your build. Not that you really need to experiment, because there are several different builds described in the guide. Wanna raid? PvP? Group? Solo PvE? Use maces, daggers, or swords? No problem, it’s covered.
I could go on and on for several pages about everything that makes this guide outstanding but, instead, I urge you to go over to Killer Guides and read up on it. I’m sure you’ll be very happy with this guide.
