Guide last updated: January 2008
Review last updated: 2008-01-22
Killer Guides’ Raiding Guide was updated in January 2008 with boss strategies for all the raid dungeons in The Burning Crusade, including Zul’Aman and world raid bosses.
The last update before that was in 2005 (!) but hopefully this guide will be updated again in a more timely fashion when Wrath of the Lich King comes out, though I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I must admit that I’m not a raider myself. I’m more into PvP and I’ve only done a little bit of raiding pre-TBC and none at level 70. It’s the reason why I haven’t rated this guide. I will still try to tell you something about the content of this guide, though.
- It has about 200 pages of text and no images.
- There are very detailed strategies for defeating almost every boss (some minor optional bosses are skipped in the guide).
- It doesn’t tell you what group to bring because the author feels a mixed group is usually the best way to go instead of "stacking" the raid by cherry-picking the best classes for each encounter.
- It doesn’t tell you how to buff with flasks, pots, food, and other consumables.
- It does walk you through the steps of becoming attuned to the various instances.
Mostly it’s a detailed and comprehensive guide to taking down all the bosses inside the new raid instances. You’ll learn about special abilities of the bosses, how to pull, how to position your group, pretty much how to handle the entire encounter.
Whether the information is good, I can’t tell because I haven’t raided, but I would assume it’s useable. Remember that you can get this guide as part of Killer Guides’ guide package as well, if you’re interested in their other guides too.
