Killer Guides’ World of Warcraft Priest Guide is a 99 page ebook covering various strategies for mastering the Priest in WoW. It was totally revamped in November 2007, however it did not include the changes that were made to WoW in the 2.3 patch. But those changes were pretty minor in regards to this guide and don’t really affect it that much.
The information is accurate most of the time, so I feel it can be trusted. The author knows what he’s talking about and I agree with most advice in the guide.
I would say the guide covers mostly 6 things, namely the following (with my comments in paranthesis):
- Character creation (this changed slightly in the 2.3 patch as some changes were made, but overall this information is solid.)
- Skills and talents (A discussion of various skills and talents. Unfortunately it was in alphabetical order and skills and talents were mixed, so you didn’t know exactly what you were reading about without looking it up on a database site such as wowhead.com. Still a good reference for the usefulness of many talents and spells.)
- Leveling 1-70 (A lot of links to quests, some suggestions for dungeons to do, but much of it was from an alliance perspective. Many quests were available for both sides, though.)
- Gear for pre-raiding priests. (A list, with links, to gear you can get before you get into raiding in The Burning Crusade. A very good section of the guide.)
- PvP strategies. (How to kill any other class in a duel, but much of this was not updated for The Burning Crusade and therefore of questionable value.)
- Making money (Mostly focused on end game gold making. A surprisingly good part of the guide that even taught me something new, and that’s very rare these days when it comes to making gold in WoW.)
There was also the mandatory sections on gameplay strategies (solo and groups) and, of course, talent builds for various purposes (pvp, leveling, instances and such).
Overall I felt this guide will be quite helpful to a priest, as well as earn you some nice gold and gear at level 70. However, a few sections could have used some improvement, like the leveling part, PvP strategies, and the discussion on skills & talents (the info was good but not the layout).
I feel this guide is worth checking out, especially if you’re new to the priest class.
