Killer Guides’ Warlock Guide

Guide suitable for: Beginner - advanced players

The Warlock Guide from Killer Guides is a detailed ebook (PDF format) teaching you how to master the warlock, its abilities and pets.

The 167 pages seem to have been written after Cataclysm came out, making everything up-to-date with the current state of WoW. The overview of changes to warlocks for Cataclysm is quite neat if you haven't been keeping up to date. Additionally, PvE and PvP strategies are now separated in the guide so it’s a lot easier to find talent builds, gameplay tips and more depending on your focus.

As mentioned, the two biggest sections are PvE and PvP.

In the PvE chapter you'll learn exactly what gear to get, stats to focus on, enchants, glyphs, talent builds, spell rotations, gameplay tips and more. This will make you a great asset for your guild, in raids, dungeons etc.

The PvP chapter will show you the same stuff, but for PvP, as well as detailed match-up strategies for dueling every other class including Death Knights and other Warlocks. Good stuff.

There’s a huge chapter on pets as well, going through each pet and how to use it solo, in groups and in PvP.

Every talent has also received a paragraph of comments as well as a rating — from 1 to 5 — for usefulness. Pretty neat when you’re going to make your own talent builds. Not that you need to if you don’t want to, since several are included for any purpose.

Another cool feature is the chapter on spells and abilities, that shows you exactly when to use each of them.

If you're going to level a warlock, or even if you're level 85 and need some guidance, I highly recommend this guide. You'll learn a ton of cool strategies that will make you a great warlock, in PvE and PvP. You'll know everything from choosing a race, to advanced gameplay tactics few warlocks know about.

Updates are free for life, and this guide has received several updates since 2007. The author, Dugas, is the same guy who writes Killer Guides’ Death Knight Guide that I also think is great.

If I had to complain…

Not much to complain about. Great guide, I wish all class guides were like this.

Conclusion

I don’t think you’ll find a better warlock guide than this. Unless you’re a hardcore level 85 warlock already, you should find the tips immensely useful.
