Guide suitable for: Beginner - somewhat advanced players (not hardcore players)

This 253 page ebook is a great guide to mastering the rogue. It’s up to date with Wrath of the Lich King and levels 70-80, and covers every important aspect of the rogue class.

Not only does this WoW Rogue Guide cover everything you would expect, but it will also foster deadly skills. That’s one of the things that makes it shine. You could be a total newbie with regards to the rogue, and still learn all it takes to pwn virtually anything. You’ll learn very specific combos and sequences of skills and abilities to take down your enemies, be they monsters or other players, very fast. You’ll learn how to play your role in dungeons, groups (even different types of groups), battlegrounds, solo and so on. With some practice, you can be loved, feared and hated by putting these strategies to use.

Starting out by explaining the basics - what race to choose, how energy works and what weapons to use - this guide will not leave anyone behind, regardless of your experience with World of Warcraft or this class.

To contrast this basic information, the author then goes into an advanced discussion of how the new combat ratings work, explaining everything in-depth with mathematical formulas so you can compare and contrast different pieces of equipment. This chapter is a great reference if you ever need it, especially if you’re one of those people who want to delve deep into their class and really tweak it for optimal performance.

I won’t tell you every single thing that’s covered in the guide, because you can read about that on Killer Guides’ site. Instead, I’ll just say that it does show you how to master the rogue, from gameplay, to gearing up, to leveling, rogue quests, interface customization and more. In short, how to be a good rogue.

The best parts of this guide are the in-depth discussions on skills and talents. You’ll learn what skills to use and when, which talents to take and why. There are also premade talent builds for any purpose (raiding, PvP, groups, solo, maces, daggers, swords etc.). Talents and skills are the heart of a class, so having this info at your fingertips will be really useful.

The guide also overdelivers. There’s a chapter on twinking, one on dungeon strategies (with WotLK strategies), and other stuff.

Updates are free for life, and this guide has received about 9 updates since I started reading it 3 years ago.

If I had to complain…

The racials are outdated. Some links could’ve been included instead of tables in the guide. As it is now, there are almost 70 pages of tables that could be linked instead. The arena strategies are not detailed. But these are minor complaints. There are still a ton of great tips in the guide.

Conclusion

I could go on and on about everything that makes this guide great but, instead, I urge you to go over to Killer Guides and read up on it. I’m sure you’ll be very happy with this guide.
