The Gold Guide by Killer Guides is a 161 page ebook intended to teach you how to get filthy rich in WoW. It covers such varied topics as the auction house, professions, daily quests, farming spots for all levels and much more.

I think it lays out the fundamental strategies quite well, but could be stronger when it comes to the specifics. It is certainly much better than the previous version, which was full of atrocious errors, and it is fully updated for WotLK (unlike some gold guides).

While it starts out promising with a section on "opportunity costs" — i.e. only doing the most profitable things for gold or else lose gold in missed opportunites — it doesn’t quite apply this advice throughout the guide. Why else would you farm low level instances for example? There are faster ways to earn gold. And they are also described within these pages.

What I’m trying to say is that much of the information in this guide is solid. Some tips, though, while being profitable, will be less profitable than others. So it’s up to you to find the best (fastest) ways to make gold out of all the methods in this guide.

Apart from that, it could have been a bit more specific in some places, but it will definitely set you on the right path and I’m confident you’ll earn a lot more gold with it.

Updates are free for life and it has received an update for patch 3.3, but the update was more about the general changes brought on by 3.3 than how to profit on them.

If you get Killer Guides WoW guide package, which includes all of their guides, then this one is definitely worth a read as it will help you make more gold. But be prepared to sift through the pages to find the most profitable tips for you.
