Guide suitable for: Beginner - intermediate players
Whether you’re new to the druid class or already started leveling your druid, this guide will teach
you what you need to know to be the "go-to-druid" on your server.
The truth of the matter is that a druid can be like a healer, rogue (cat form), warrior (bear form)
or mage (moonkin form) so it’s not easy to write a guide that covers everything. Nevertheless, I think the author
has done a good job in this 156 page ebook.
There are many things to learn to be a powerful druid, and most of it is covered in this guide.
There are a number of different aspects you gotta get right with this class… and those who don’t will remain
noobs.
The first 80 pages are the most essential, in my opinion. It is here you learn all the critical
stuff like…
-
What stats to focus on for each build and how much you need of each
-
Damage and healing rotations
-
How and when to use any ability available to you
-
Which talents to choose, and premade talent builds for any purpose
-
Enchants, gems, glyphs and equipment
There is a certain progression of things you need to learn, a certain order if you will. For
example, enchant and gems etc. are important, but only once you know how to play.
Forty pages are dedicated to leveling your druid, including dungeon tips, flight paths and
important druid quests. This may or may not be useful to you. In my opinion, this could have been shortened.
Of questionable value is also the 13 page list of instances in World of Warcraft. Not really
relevant in a druid guide, I think.
The PvP strategies are a bit minimalistic, but there are nevertheless tips on defeating any of the
10 classes in WoW, as well as some BG and arena advice.
The gold strategies barely cover 2 pages, so don’t expect too much from that.
Finally, a nice touch was the section on addons and macros. While not essential to most new druids,
it’s a great reference to have when you feel you want to take your gameplay to the next level.
If I had to complain…
There is some irrelevant information in the guide, in my opinion. The gold strategies are weak, and
the gear section could’ve been better.
Conclusion
If this guide doesn’t take you a big step forward to becoming an imba druid, I don’t know what
will. The chapters most relevant to building a powerful druid are the strongest, whereas the other chapters (gold,
leveling, instances etc.) are weaker. Overall, this is clearly a good guide for a beginner-intermediate druid.
