Level 50 with Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide
Wednesday,February 27th, 2008
I dinged level 50 today on my blood elf warlock.
As you may know I’m testing Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide and following it pretty much to the letter. I was using some rested XP at level 40 and then again a few levels later, so I’m running approximately 1 level ahead in the guide. I think I’ll skip an entire chapter of the guide soon to catch up.
The warlock is fun and quite easy. Everyone my level who has tried to gank me has ended up doing corpse runs instead of me. I’m using the leveling talent build from Killer Guides’ Warlock Guide and it has served me really well.
My /played time now on level 50 is 2 days 21 hours. When I was leveling my hunter with Brian Kopp’s Alliance Leveling Guide I was level 48 in 3 days 20 hours, so the 2.3 patch has saved me a lot of time so far.
It also means I’ve gone from level 40 to 50 in 20 hours.
Joana’s guide has been a tremendous help, but a little more detail in some places wouldn’t hurt. Sometimes he just says: "Go do the following: Quest X, quest Y, quest Z" without saying what to do. He does have maps that help a lot but I find myself reading the quest log often as well. But since I’ve done many of the quests before, it’s not a big deal for me.

I agree, when i followed the Joana’s Leveling Guide, i found myself reading the quests over and over, and checking thottbot all the time. It really is annoying when he doesn’t describe what to do, he just says “Do that. Do it!” - and i end up reading thottbot posts. For me this was a big problem, because that was the first horde character i’ve ever leveled (not one horde in 3 years, lol). I did not know what to do in the different quests.
Just mentioning it - and i am afraid of seeing some guys with hoods on them outside my house tomottow - but, I will give Joana’s Leveling a 6/10.
