IRL preparations for TBC
Friday,January 12th, 2007
Did you see the "cinematic intro" for TBC?
If not, check it out here:

Cool, wasn’t it?
About "not being prepared"… some are. You can read my guide about preparing for TBC here. But how are players preparing IRL? If you don’t do some of the following things, you are not hard core. Just joking.
I know some people here in Sweden that have been saving a couple of "vacation weeks" (all employees get 5 weeks vacation per year) from 2006 and are using them when TBC hits the stores to indulge in their favorite game.
I suspect there will also be a mysterious "flu virus" that only WoW gamers (especially those who go to school as opposed to work) will be susceptible to, starting January 16th, and probably lasting a good week or so.
IF you have the opportunity to stay home and game WoW that week, then here are some ideas to make the most of it (don’t take them too seriously, unless you want to):
- Buy TBC from a store 00:01 at a.m. January 16th. That way, instead of pre-ordering it so you’ll have to wait for the post to be delivered, you’ll get it several hours earlier.
- Sleep and rest as much as possible during the day of January 15th, so you’re rested once you start playing at midnight January 16th.
- Make sure that you’ve eaten so you don’t need to do any such mundane things for a good while.
- In fact, prepare some snacks that you can eat at the computer. Nuts and fruits are a good and healthy choice.
- Take the phone off the hook, hang the DND sign on the front door, turn off your cell phone and other such distractions (all this goes without saying doesn’t it?)
- Follow a leveling guide and you’ll be lvl 70 in no time.
Actually, and I hate to admit it but, I’ll be guilty on all 6 counts. And I’ll try to share as many tips as possible here to give you an edge in Outlands.
If you got any more tips for IRL preparations, do add them as comments.
Really looking forward to this.
